The Altar Servers Organization is an important and wonderful church organization. To become an altar server you must have make your First Holy Communion and be a member of St. Mary of the Purification.

Anyone interested in joining or getting more information about the Altar Servers should contact
Kenneth Mackie        281-894 7800
Wanda Johnson        832 492 5088

The following are some of the expectations of Altar Servers.

  1. Look regularly (each month) at the parish altar server's schedule for your name.. Make sure that you and your parent(s) know when you are to serve. The schedule is  posted in the Altar servers’ room.
  2. All servers are expected to be at the Church (Servers’ room) 15 minutes before mass

  3. Be sure to dress appropriately -  clothes should be neat.
  4. Call Kenneth Mackie or Wanda Johnson for a substitute if you cannot serve on the
day and time of your assignment.

  5. Learn the names of the vessels, furniture, and books that are used at the church liturgies.

  6. Altar servers are expected to attend meetings and seminars sponsored by the Church.

  7. Participate reverently in the mass. An altar server is not someone who
performs a function or two and then settles back to observe the rest. They listen, sing, and
    pray with the entire assembly.
